Fashion Desiner Gianni Versace
By this time, Versace’s creations went well beyond clothing, fragrance, and costumes of the ballet to include Versace sunglasses, jewelry, watches, furnishings, and fine china. But Gianni Versace’s grand career was tragically reduce. On July 16, 1997, he was shot to death when in front of his South Beach home in Florida. A week later, the prime suspect inside the murder was found dead on an nearby houseboat. Gianni Versace was only half a century old when he died. After Versace’s death, his brother Santo Versace became the new CEO of Versace, with his fantastic sister Donatella Versace had become the new head of design. His niece, Donatella’s daughter Allegra, inherited 50 % Gianni Versace’s fashion franchise empire, worth some $500 million, upon turning 18 in 2004. Donatella’s son Daniel inherited Gianni Versace’s amazing collection of rare artwork. The label is still going strong, designing clothing, accessories, and housewares. Those that loved the designs of Gianni Versace are still loyal to the brand, along with the brand still caters to those with tastes which can be somehow “more”: more sexy, more original, more vibrant, more “out there.” Though he has been dead for over a decade, Gianni Versace’s influence is still pretty much felt within the Versace fashion franchise label.
